Life gives us plenty to take seriously. It also gives us plenty to laugh about.
I have learned that family stories get better with time, grandchildren keep a man humble, and a little laughter can make a long day feel lighter.

A good friend changed his first flat tire on the island of Roatan while I supervised with the confidence of a man holding none of the tools.

When I was about twelve, two great-uncles near eighty took me coon hunting. I am still not sure whether we hunted raccoons or potholes, but we laughed a lot.

My dad could turn a lunch break, a floor full of plastic army men, and one tennis ball into the best game in town.

I met Bridy after a neighbor talked me into going to church. More than three decades later, I can confirm that was one very good invitation.

A PawPaw's pockets are never empty. They are holding candy, rocks, or something a grandchild said was important.
