What steady faith looks like in ordinary work

A quiet reminder to take the next faithful step.
Faith is easy to talk about when life feels dramatic. Most days are not dramatic. Most days are a collection of ordinary choices: get up, say a prayer, return the call, keep the promise, and treat people well.
I have learned that those small choices are where character takes shape. A person does not need a title or a platform to live with purpose. Purpose can show up at a kitchen table, in a church hallway, during a long workday, or while helping a grandchild find the shoes that disappeared five minutes ago.
Faith belongs in ordinary moments
For me, faith is not about pretending every day is easy. It is about remembering who God is, asking for His help, and moving forward with gratitude. Sometimes the next step is big. Often it is simply doing the task in front of me with patience and care.
There is a lot of peace in accepting that I do not have to control every result. I can prepare, work hard, love people, and place the outcome in God’s hands.
Do the next good thing
When the whole road is not visible, the next good thing is enough. Encourage someone. Finish what you started. Make the call. Say thank you. Apologize if you need to. Laugh when the moment calls for it.
Ordinary work may never draw a crowd, but it can still honor God and serve people well. That is a good day’s work in my book.
